Erica brings over 20 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience spanning Genzyme, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and Sage Therapeutics, including serving as Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Data Protection Officer at Sage Therapeutics and Head of Global Compliance Operations at Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
At Vertex, she built the Global Data Privacy program and designed Global Spend Transparency across 30+ international disclosure laws. At Sage, the compliance operations program she led was featured as a case study in Measuring Compliance (Cambridge University Press, 2022), in a chapter on compliance analytics by Harvard Business School Professor Eugene Soltes.
Erica led the design of Sage’s AI governance framework, aligning compliance, legal, IT, and business teams around responsible AI. Through Ethical Path Advisors, the strategic compliance consultancy she founded, she continues this work alongside broader compliance program design, commercial launch readiness, and global expansion engagements for biotech, pharma, and medical device clients. That depth of AI risk experience in life sciences is foundational to how Ethical Paths was designed.
Erica is known for pioneering data-driven approaches to compliance, designing programs that drive responsible innovation rather than constrain it.
Tim is the co-founder and CTO of Ethical Paths. Well before AI was a household term, he co-founded DataRobot, where his team invented automated machine learning (AutoML) and built the AI platform Fortune 500 companies rely on for predictive analytics, forecasting, and risk modeling at scale. A data scientist, software engineer, and pioneer in applied AI, data analytics, and predictive modeling, Tim has spent his career building the infrastructure that makes AI safe, scalable, and useful in environments with big, complex data, structured and unstructured, where the stakes are high.
